Fri, 14 September 2007 I've been considering attempting a live audio stream show for some time and we may have our first attempt this weekend. Sunday afternoon (September 16) I will try to do a 90-mnute show live from the Timbers Army tailgate at PGE Park. The show would run from 2:00pm to 3:30pm Pacific time. We'll try to upload pictures, have guests, heckle the Whitecaps when they arrive, etc. If the show is a go I will post the link here as well as at www.talktimbers.com Sunday morning. Uncharted territory for me, but if it works out I may try to do something similar for some home matches next season - a 30 minute pre-match show leading up to the Timbers own audiocast or something similar. Wed, 25 April 2007 Well, I just glanced at all the entries I've done in April and it's as if the season is in full swing. There are controversies brewing with the Timbers Army as there are compromises coming with the front office. There are massive numbers staging for the trip to Seattle as people try to fit in all the matches the week of May 7. But the most important thing is that the boys are playing again on the pitch and they looked anything but unprepared on April 21 vs. Puerto Rico. The squad is big, skilled and hungry. Their fitness is very good and they fight for everything they get. I am impressed by what Gavin Wilkinson has done so far. So I urge each of you to bring a friend to one of the matches the week of May 7. Spread the love. -Obi Please feel free to post comments or take the time to email me the107report@verizon.net with any suggestions you might have.

Sun, 30 April 2006 ![]() My apologies for the lack of a 'cast for the last several weeks. I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew. I had grand visions of recanting tall tales from England, and I may still do that, but in all honesty I got very little audio from across the pond. It turns out I was having too much fun. Upon my return I've been jetlagged and swamped with a few too many things to schedule the right time for another episode. I have a few snippets from after Portland's 1-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps but I'm shelving them until after this weekend's matches. We'll compare and contrast the three. I hope to publish on Sunday, May 7. A different challenge is that one of my reporters has taken another opportunity so my plan for a preview show each week has taken a huge hit. But I fully support his choice and know that it will work out well for him, even if it doesn't work out so well for us. A few tidbits: a pretty move http://aprettymove.blogspot.com/ is a new Portland-centric football blog. They've been kind enough to link to my report and I have been enjoying their opinions. You should too. The May 5 home opener is almost upon us. I'll have some new merchandise available before the matches (including patches and some cool retro/alternate jerseys) at the Bullpen Tavern this weekend. There's talk of a tailgate on Saturday, May 6. Tailgates are cool. RCTID -Obi Category: general -- posted at: 12:58 PM Comments[0] |
Sun, 19 March 2006 Great things are ahead for The 107 Report. Our production staff is hard at work putting together the format for the season and developing the contacts to make it happen.
Once the season is underway expect one or two shows each week, one recap of recent events and one preview of upcoming matches. Expect to hear some new voices hosting and interviewing as well.
If you have any direct feedback, suggestions or questions, please email The107Report@verizon.net
Thanks for listening. Green is the color. Category: general -- posted at: 10:41 AM Comments[2] |
